What is biodegradable packaging?
Biodegradable packaging is defined as one which, in the presence of living organisms under environmental conditions, will completely transform into natural elements (i.e. CO2, water, compost).
After years of research, LYSPACKAGING has developed biodegradable NF EN 13432 certified bottles, flasks and jars which have become a truly ecological alternative in the pharmaceutical field. VEGANBOTTLE is the brand named after this innovation.
VEGANBOTTLE biodegradable packaging is already used by some of our customers with very satisfactory results. If you are offering an organic, vegan or organic product, why not complete the offer with consistent packaging between content and container manufactured by LYSPACKAGING ?

How long does it take for it to degrade?
For LYSPACKAGING packaging to degrade, three elements are necessary:
High temperature
Humidity
Presence of microorganisms
The absence of one of these factors slows down decomposition but does not stop it (as long as the temperature is above 0ºC).
This combination of elements is ideal for packaging applications while protecting the environment after use.
The bottle or pillbox will take years to decompose in a shelf or warehouse. However, if it is thrown in the ground, in a landfill or in water (temperature + humidity + microorganisms), the decomposition accelerates considerably. We don't want our packaging to be thrown out into the wild. This mention must appear on the product when it is marketed.
The optimal treatment after use is compostability. More than 90% of the mass decomposes within 6 months under compostability conditions, defined according to the UNE EN ISO 13432 (US ASTM D6400) standard.
What about the carbon footprint (CO2)?
Our VEGANBOTTLE technology eliminates more than 50% of greenhouse emissions compared to traditional plastic. Our carbon footprint was carried out by a life cycle analysis study on CO2 emissions taking into account the manufacture of the material, all transport, production and the end of life of our packaging.
RECYCLING AND COMPOSTING, END OF LIFE
Our packaging must be composted or recycled. There are several solutions regarding the possible end of life of our packaging.
1-composting in the home by micro-digesters with organic waste (time between 24 and 48 hours)
2-collection and composting in an industrial center locally or regionally with organic waste (delay between 30 to 90 days)
3-burying (variable delay depending on environmental conditions)
4-incinerated (less CO2 released because the carbon content of our packaging is lower than traditional packaging)
